01Tea factory

Completed in May 2012, the factory manufactures instant tea and other powdered beverages.

Our factories house sections for production as well as quality assurance and production control. Each item produced here must pass strict quality assurance checks before it is approved by the production control section and stored in our warehouse, ready for delivery to the customer.

Constructed as part of our 50th anniversary project, this contemporary factory includes a comfortable walkway for observers.

04Spray dry factories

Each of this factory's three buildings has its own spray dryer boasting unique features. Use of the three buildings is determined by the raw materials handled and the specific flavors sought. The photo depicts the spray factory which was completed in 2008.

As the nucleus of Nikken's office management functions, this unique structure contains offices, conference rooms, an employee cafeteria, and a greenhouse.

06Organic farm

Organic farming yields natural goodness. Nikken is proud of its organic farm situated on a broad expanse of land, which include a dedicated field for harvesting seasonal vegetables, along with strawberry and grape greenhouses.

This area supports cultivation of a variety of produce, including daikon radishes, carrots, onions, potatoes, eggplants, okra, and tomatoes.

When strawberry season rolls around, bright red berries grow in clusters and fill the greenhouse with a sweet scent.

Nikken grows the delicious, sweet Shine Muscat variety. Grapes are ever popular at the honor-system farm stand for employees.

Compost for the organic farm is produced through fermentation of used and then discarded tea leaves from the instant tea factory.

08LNG Satellite

We host an LNG satellite terminal (high-pressure gas production facility) for vaporizing liquefied natural gas located on site to secure fuel (100m3).

09Cogeneration

We have installed two gas cogeneration systems for converting waste heat into electrical energy, thus enabling efficient energy usage.

10Private water supply

We maintain dedicated equipment for pumping up and purifying groundwater. Our Business Continuity Plan (BCP) includes ongoing production and provision of drinking water to residents in the event of a disaster.

11Regulating pond

The pond is a habitat for killifish and other creatures. Herons, kingfishers, and wagtails also drop in for visits. A variety of plant life is also cultivated around the pond.

12Baseball ground

The baseball ground sees usage in all four seasons and is open to the local citizenry for events as well.

13Ugari Cave Tumulus

We continue careful preservation of the Ugari Cave Tumulus, which dates back some 1,300-1,700 years and is found on the corporate headquarters premises.

14Mountain Creek

The spring water is cool even in summer; the sparkling creek water is home to crab and shrimp.
