Health Management

Nikken is certified by Shizuoka Prefecture as a "Fujinokuni Health Promotion Gold Business Office." As such, we "aim for 100% employee health check-ups and 50% or greater health guidance rate, strive to encourage retesting and treatment for those who require it, and work to implement mental health initiatives."
Moreover, employee cafeteria menus are overseen by registered dieticians in the interest of employee health. Menus incorporate vegetables from our organic farm and are fashioned keeping "local production for local consumption" in mind.

We offer some 300 correspondence courses to interested employees, with partial or full subsidies in qualifying situations.
We also provide monthly e-learning to impart food safety knowledge required of employees working in food products company.

Green Factory Awards

In 2017, Nikken received the Japan Greenery Research and Development Center Chairperson's Award based on the green factory award system. In 2022, we received the Kanto Bureau of Economy, Trade, and Industry Director-General's Award. At our lush park-like factory, our employees work in surroundings generating a sense of nature and biodiversity.

    We operate a JAS-certified organic farm on headquarter premises. Harvested seasonal organic vegetables are utilized in the employee cafeteria and are sold onsite to employees, contributing to the enhanced health of employees and their families.

    Employees with dietician certification plan cafeteria menus, procure ingredients, and prepare food as part of our in-house cafeteria management. The highly nutritional meals served at the cafeteria support enhanced employee health.

    Nikken supports an onsite blood drive twice each year, receiving a gold-medal commendation from the Japan Red Cross Society in 2014 for longtime service and the Governor's medal of honor from Shizuoka Prefecture in 2020. We will continue supporting activities contributing to health and medical care.

  • Sharing the joys of food and the rewards of manufacturing with the next generation

    We offer site tours and internships to students and teachers of local elementary, junior high, senior high, and special-needs schools. We also dispatch employees as lecturers for comprehensive education classes at local elementary schools. These activities are part of our role in the food industry supply chain, conveying the joys of eating and the rewards of manufacturing with local children-those who represent the next generation.

  • Providing educational and training opportunities to enhance employee abilities

    Nikken provides employees with the opportunity to select from among some 300 correspondence courses. Those fulfilling conditions may receive full or partial tuition subsidies, offering employees the chance to enhance their abilities on a volunteer basis.

    In 2021, we formalized the Nikken Human Rights Declaration. As a corporate group proactively expanding business overseas, we respect the human rights of all stakeholders in all our business regions, including overseas bases. To that end, we reject all forms of modern slave labor, including child and/or forced labor, and strive for well-being in all workplaces.
